Dr. Kimberly Smith Dauterive is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician. She was born in Washington D.C. but grew up in St. Martinville, LA. She was raised as an only child by her phenomenal mother, Lorraine Savoy, in a single parent household where she learned how to be strong despite the obstacles, courageously independent, and how to boldly live life with purpose. 

Dr. Kim graduated as salutatorian of her class in 1989 from St. Martinville Senior High School in St. Martinville, LA then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1993 from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA; her Master of Science Degree in 1996 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette); and her Doctor of Medicine Degree in 2000 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. 

She is the owner of JKL Healthcare Services, a private medical practice located in New Iberia LA, and provides exemplary personalized healthcare to her patients using both allopathic and holistic medicine to meet her patient’s needs. Her motto is that total patient care means “healing the mind, body, and spirit”. She is the co-owner of Total Health and Wellness and PKD Housing Rentals, LLC, and co-founder of the Phillip Poppa Dauterive III Foundation created in honor of her 9-year-old son who was tragically taken from her and her family. Turning her pain into purpose, Dr. Kim became a certified Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist and created the DoctorKSD Evolved Brand to help others by empowering them with the proper tools to navigate life after any type of the loss, to reprogram their mindsets, and to see themselves as the amazing creations they were designed to be through her P.A.V.E. The Way and ReMold Me programs.

Dr. Kim has shared a life-bond with Phillip Dauterive, Jr. whom she has been blissfully married to since 2007.  She is the mother of James, Leah, 2 Angels now residing in Heaven- Phillip III “Poppa” and Mallory, and 4 bonus children. Dr. Smith is also a transformer, motivator, nurturer, and a woman of God. She loves being an advocate for the well-being of her family, her patients, and her community and strives to fulfill her mission statement of “healing the mind, body and spirit” and empowering others to “Live Life With Purpose On Purpose”.
